KIDZ KLUB

Kidz Klub is a unique space at our Oley 2024 Annual Conference for our younger members between the ages of 5 and 12 to spend time with other kids on nutrition support and participate in safe, inclusive, and educational activities.

Sunday:

Morning: 8:45-12:30

Afternoon: 1:15-4:45

Monday:

Morning: 8:30-12:30

Afternoon: 1:15-4:15

Tuesday:

Morning: 8:45-11:15

We will provide staff oversight to ensure your child’s safety and provide planned activities to keep them engaged so you are free to attend sessions.

Your child must be registered in advance for Kidz Klub so we can accurately plan for staffing ratios and activities.

Kidz Klub will be located downstairs in Sun Devil Ballrooms 1-2

Parents/Guardians must check their child in upon dropping their child off and check their child out upon picking their child up by signing the form at the entrance of the Kidz Klub hallway.

Staff will only allow your child to leave with the parent(s)/guardian(s) listed on their registration form. If you need to make any changes to this information on site, please visit Cathy Harrington at Registration.

Kidz Klub staff will not be responsible for

  • Handling medical tasks (i.e. hooking, unhooking, flushing, administering meds, etc.)
  • Assisting your child in the bathroom
  • Managing dangerous/disruptive behaviors

Parents/Guardians must be reachable at all times, are not allowed to leave the Omni hotel property, and must provide a secondary emergency contact should they be unavailable for any reason.

In Kidz Klub, we strive to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children entrusted to our care. Our code of conduct outlines the expectations we have for both children and staff to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved:

  • Respect Others: Treat fellow children and staff with kindness, patience, and empathy. Use words and actions that do not hurt or belittle others.
  • Listen and Follow Instructions: Pay attention to instructions given by staff and follow them promptly and respectfully.
  • Share and Take Turns: Share toys, supplies, and space with others. Take turns and wait patiently for your chance to participate in activities.
  • Use Gentle Hands: Refrain from hitting, pushing, or engaging in any behavior that may cause harm to others.
  • Use Indoor Voices: Speak at an appropriate volume indoors to avoid disrupting others in the space and maintain a calm atmosphere.
  • Clean Up After Yourself: Help tidy up toys, games, and materials after use. Take responsibility for your belongings and personal space.
  • Use Supplies Responsibly: Any supplies provided are to be used in the way they are intended. If supplies are used unsafely or inappropriately,
  • Follow Safety Rules: Adhere to safety guidelines provided by staff. No climbing on or under furniture, hanging on curtains, or rough housing.
  • Respect Personal Boundaries: Respect the personal space and boundaries of others. Ask for consent before touching or engaging in physical contact.
  • Participate and Engage: Take part in activities with enthusiasm. Contribute positively to the learning environment.

If your child is unable to follow these expectations, staff will provide them with a verbal warning, allow them to take a break from the activities, or offer an alternative activity.

If they continue to be disruptive, disrespectful, or behaving in a way that is unsafe, staff will call the parent/guardian and ask that they come be picked up immediately.

Prior to the next Kidz Klub session, staff will communicate with parent/guardian to develop a strategy in an effort to help your child follow the expectations listed above.

However, if the child continues to be disruptive/disrespectful/unsafe, they will be unable to attend Kidz Klub for the remainder of the conference.
