OLEY WANTS TO HELP GET YOU TO CONFERENCE

Oley wants to make the Oley Annual Conference accessible to as many consumer and care partners as possible. Although we waive the registration rate for all consumers and care partners, we know traveling can still be expensive. Your participation is valuable to us, and we're here to support you being together in person at this important event with the Oley community.

This is why we offer travel grants to help offset the costs of attending the annual conference in person. This application is your way to access a grant to ensure that financial barriers don't keep you from joining us.

  • Grants will only be given to Oley members. If you are not a member, Join Oley for your free membership.
  • Applicants must be registered for the Oley conference before applying for the travel grant. Register here.
  • Any consumer or family of a consumer may apply.

  • Grant amounts will vary based on a variety of circumstances and available funds. Grants will be awarded in the range of $500 to a maximum of $1000. The specific amount granted will be determined by Oley after careful consideration of factors such as overall number of applications received.
  • Grants will be given until the funds run out or there are no more qualified applicants.
  • The grant is to cover travel expenses to the annual conference for consumers or family member/care partner who cares for them.
  • Qualified travel expenses include airfare, hotel, car rental, ride share, food, and other typical travel related expenses
The registration for the annual conference is free to patients/consumers, their families and care partner. The attendee is responsible for the cost of the hotel. This year we are excited to have a discounted hotel rate for our patients/consumers.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who will be attending the Oley Annual Conference for the first time, but all may apply.
  • Grants submitted by qualified applicants will be reviewed by an Oley Selection panel
  • This is a reimbursement grant. Upon receiving qualified receipts, Oley will send a check up to the designated grant amount. Typically, about 2 weeks after we receive all the required documentation.
  • Travel must be completed, and receipts received by Oley by August 15 before reimbursement can be made.
  • Applicants should not be receiving any other financial assistance for travel and/or lodging expenses related to attending the annual conference.
  • Travel grants are limited to one per consumer/family/household.
  • Travel grants can only be used the year they are applied for.
  • Grant recipients are expected to adhere to the Oley Code of Conduct and other applicable policies during the conference.
  • Oley reserves the right to disqualify any applicant found to have provided false information or failed to comply with the rules.
  • Travel grants are non-transferable.

Application and Notification Process

Qualified applicants should complete the application which includes writing two paragraphs describing how they believe attending the conference will affect their life by the assigned deadline. If all available funds have been allocated and there are still pending applications, we will keep these applications on a waiting list. As more resources become available to us, we will continue to give the grants.

How to Give

Are you interested in donating directly so someone can attend the conference? Every dollar donated to this program goes directly to a deserving, qualified applicant. Companies and individuals who are interested can donate to the Oley Annual Conference travel grant fund click here.

Sponsors Fine Print

  • For corporations, we suggest increments of $1000 to support a full grant.
  • Corporate sponsors will be recognized in the conference program.
  • Oley staff reviews the applications and distributes the grants.
  • Oley does not share the names of the recipients with sponsors.
  • Oley cannot honor requests that grants be distributed to a specific individual.
  • Oley will do its best to honor the sponsors’ preferences that their grant be given to a patient on a particular therapy or having a specific diagnosis, but Oley makes no guarantee.

These rules and guidelines aim to ensure a fair and transparent process for the Oley Travel Grant Program, allowing as many deserving individuals as possible to benefit from grant assistance to attend the annual conference.
